It’s time for Sawyer to start living her life. Since she was fifteen she has taken care of everyone but herself, including her older brother Dane. She has been lying to herself to keep from feeling the pain of her parent’s death. Now she is twenty and she’s ready to start a life of her own. Moving into her parent’s lake house would be the perfect escape. Wouldn’t it? That’s what she thought. Only, it led her right into the emotional place she’s been hiding from all this time. All of those years of running from her feelings, she now has to face them. It’s too much. She can’t deal with it alone. Someone has to help. She’ll do anything to escape the heartbreak, but you can only run so far.
Travis can’t believe his eyes; his half-opened, blood shot eyes. Sawyer Evans was in the flesh and standing over him. He hadn’t seen this girl since he was ten years old. Travis only saw the Evan’s during the summer when they moved into the lake house. He and Dane were best friends. When Dane invited him and the old gang to a welcome back party at the Lake House, he couldn’t wait to go. It turns out getting wasted was only half the fun. Seeing Sawyer was the other half. She was the sexiest girl he’d ever seen and he was going to make sure that she knew it. Only she shot him down time and time again. He’s determined to break down those walls and get inside her head, but he’ll have to be sober to do it, and no matter how hard he tries, she’ll always run. He can’t keep chasing her. He has to figure out a way to make her stay.
It’s time to stop running, stop hiding, and start learning where the true escape lies. Everyone will face heartbreak, but not everyone will find love.
STAND ALONE Novel for ages 18+ due to graphic language, and sexual content.

Sawyer was hiding from her heartache she had lost her parents and was taking care of everyone to keep from having to deal until she decides to move into their old lake house. She wanted to focus on herself maybe get a job and do things for her only but she didn’t realize all the ghosts of the past that would show up, the memory of her parents and the boy who broke her heart so many years ago. Should she stay and face her past or should she turn tail and run?Regina is on one of my favorites list, yes I have a list of my favorite go to authors and I am in their fan club ;) But for real this was an amazing story. It was heart wrenching and beautiful at the same time. To see an introverted girl who has lost so much find her heart again was beautiful. I love seeing the potential dirt ball turn into the knight in shining armor.
Sawyer was a great character, she had been dealt a hard hand but was trying to pull herself out of the ashes. She was a strong individual even though she felt weak, it takes a lot of courage to face all of your ghosts on your own whether you meant to do it or not. She faced them and broke down but she had an unlikely savior, Travis. Her first heartbreak.
I loved Travis even though he was not so nice when they were kids he really stepped up as an adult. He took on roles that he shouldn't have had to but he wore that badge proudly. His affection he felt for Sawyer was so sweet, he took every shoot down from her with grace. My opinion is to go get your copy now, it’s a great story of over coming loss.

Escaping Heartbreak Unbroken Series Book 1 edition by Regina Bartley Laura Hampton Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
Wow what a great story of two young people Sawyer and Travis. A story of determination to get what is in your heart. A must read read, it will pull you in from the start. Great job!!!
Really enjoyed this book. Such a sweet love story between 2 people who cared for each other growing up, but circumstances kept them apart. Now they have been brought back into each others lives at a time that they both needed. Enjoy
This is a very thoughtful and dark book but I loved every minute of their journey)
This story will grab a hold of your heart and not let go. Regina always manages to capture pure raw emotion in her stories and this one is no exception! Get the tissues ready!
Regina Bartley strikes again! This book does a wonderful job of showing the connection and bond between people who are in different situations but experiencing the same mental conflicts; It also reflects nicely on how important our ties to those we love really are. I love the raw emotion in this book, the characters intertwine beautifully with one another. I was totally intrigued by the twists that you don't see coming, and how perfectly they mesh into the storyline. Another 5 star review for such an amazing author (
If you're looking for a good book, any of Regina Bartley's will do!
Regina has a way of writing stories dealing with issues that most of us find hard to cope with and deal with. This particular story deals with death and coping with it and moving on. Everyone deals with it differently and some try not to cope with it, and keep themselves busy. This is exactly how Sawyer plans to keep it until she decides she needs more, but how will she cope and handle it? This book was an incredible read and emotional and screams "It's OK to not always be strong and rely on others" to me. That's a message that we must all understand and accept at some point in our life. Another book of Regina's that was a home run!
Wow, this book captivated me from the very beginning and kept me captivated until the very end. I read it in one sitting because I couldn't put it down. This book took you on a roller coaster of so many emotions; heartache, loss, loneliness, sorrow, joy, love, compassion, understanding....
It is a story about overcoming deep emotions and learning to live again. Regina Bartley knocked it out of the park with this book. I am now a fan of her work. I loved her writing style and how expressive she is. I will definitely be reading more of her work and hope that Book 2 of this series is about Dane and Wren. I will keep an eye out for that. Bravo Regina Bartley, this is a great book.
